Lashing Storms Cause Havoc

Murfreesboro city in Tennessee bore the brunt of the storms that lashed Tennessee. There were many tornadoes in this city. Funnel clouds were reported in Kentucky and Alabama. Huge winds and heavy rain were also reported. Rutherford County was one of the worst-hit places. Around 41 people suffered injuries and about 40 houses were destroyed. Those killed were a mother and a child. Mr.Joe Spencer and his brother were lucky survivors when their house suffered a direct tornado hit. They survived by locking themselves up in their bathrooms. The Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport authorities reported that flights were delayed by about 90 minutes due to the swirling gray clouds.
